Hi folks,

It was a nice sunny day here (for a change) and I had a day off work so I took the opportunity to take the CC8800 outside for some nice pictures. I made a thread about the custom parts (boom head plus runner, hook blocks, stinger) some years ago on the forum and the crane has been packed away for a good couple of years, but since moving house recently I've been able to set it up again and I spent a few hours over the weekend refining the counterweight tray and stinger, and I also built the 5m extension - the second time I've done this. It's not finished yet (nor is the runner tip) but I love how good this model looks with these accessories.

I know the setup is a little unrealistic but it's the first time I've properly reeved the main block with both winches using the braided nylon string I got on ebay, and it looks really nice. The transformer and rigging was made for another dio I did a couple of years ago. It's a bit crooked, but it'll do for now!

Does anyone have a strong opinion on the boom head that Conrad have continued into the CC8800-1 Boom Booster model? I'm pretty disappointed that they haven't updated it, but I guess it wasn't a priority for them.

I have the CC8800 set up next to my desk in the study (first pic).

Also, the crane is not properly rigged in these pics - this was just a kind of "progress report" to see how things would look. The transformer weighs a little over 1kg.

i dont think i ever saw this model wired up so much (i certanly never wire mine nearly as much haha), i really love the second hook on this model
