Not long ago they started asking me for parts for caterpillar machines in 1:50 scale..., rims..., cabs..., rops... Then I started making some flex tires, until I decided to make my first complete machine, my first project is a Cat 966C and it's almost done... When I start to make the engine, a 3306C, a client asks me for that same engine disassembled to make a diorama... well, very good! to work then...!!! :d/ In a little more time my engine will be finished... Later I will put some image of the 966C... There are more pictures of the engine HERE

Looks very cool! Any plans for a drive train for the Norscot Cat 784C for the Towhaul combo? That would be an incredible addition. Many thanks for your consideration. Take care and have a great weekend.

Then when I finish the 966C I have some parts made from the 769D, one of them is the drive train and the rim. If there is difficulty painting, I usually do it in two parts, for example for the 825C.

Very good... One more step...! Finished the 3306C. Surely I will have some details to improve. I have never been in front of a Caterpillar machine, nor in front of an engine... so I go by images and original specifications. It's all a matter of getting to work!

Excellent work Eduzan! Lovely clean forms that seem to take paint very well. What primer/colour/top coat do you use? What is your process for making these parts? I would love to be able to build booms, dippers and buckets for small to medium sized rope shovels. All the best, Jamie

All the best, Jamie Hi Jamie, as I said at the beginning of the post I am making a 966C but it was delayed because I went crazy making the engine... What takes the most time is the first step, the 3D design with some CAD software, the engine has many... many hours of design... Then printing on a resin 3D printer and subsequent cleaning process, removal of supports, sanding, etc... Then surface primer is applied and then Caterpillar paint. Only on the motor I apply a layer of matte varnish so that it does not stay with the shine of the rest of the pieces. Thank you for your comments! best regards, Edward. This is how the other parts are left...

eduzan,
I am truly impressed by the quality of your 3D printing work! The engine/transmission is just fabulous with the amount of detail for 1:50 scale. In addition, the same can be said about the 966C loader bucket and linkage. Please keep us informed about your products, we look forward to your projects! Perhaps I would like to contact you about producing a vintage cable machine in 1:50.
Best wishes!

Very well! Here we are again... This is done... I'll do some post processing and then paint! But it will be after two weeks of vacation in my dear Buenos Aires..., it's time to see the family. So surely the next post will be the finished machine... Best regards.

Fantastic work Eduzan! Looking forward to seeing these assembled and painted.
From where did you source the tires, rims, and finals?
Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks for sharing!! HI Jared, thank you for your comments. Everything is my design and then made in 3D resin printing. The tires are made of flexible material, although I can also make them in normal 3D resin, you can see them in this post. http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=139791Best regards.
