I recall how much traffic there was here, with collectors and talented modelers sharing their models and creations, which made it fun to check out the forum on a daily basis. Today, barely a "whimper." Although now in my seventies, it is still enjoyable to see what others have in their collections, and see what talent there is by those who customize, kitbash or scrachbuild their desired items that may be unobtainable.
I know that a lot of collectors have moved on to Facebook, but the problem with that is sometimes it is difficult to find an item or post that you might have seen earlier, as posts are continually added.
Here at the Forum, there was a sense of community, which is missing from Facebook. I'm sad.

We need more younger guys or this hobby will go the way of train collecting and stamps. I have slowed down considerably and am probably going to sell off since no kids or grandkids care about it. Too bad cause I have some great models.

It is sad to see less involvement here. I agree there appears to be less actual collectors out there.
I sold most of my collection when I retired.
I'm slowly collecting again, but I no longer buy just because there is a new tool.
I buy less and spend less but I now focus on limited models.
On a side note seems the big interest lately is the high end 1/64 scale cars and trucks.

Jason - looks nice! I've been building a "reasonable facsimile" of the Demag CC4000 in 1/20th scale as a retirement project. Perused the current DHS auction and was rather disappointed at the lack of ASAM Smith models. Seems they've all moved to E-Bay...

I’ve been lurking, though sometimes the forum won’t load on safari. Posting has been to a minimum as work has been exceedingly busy and projects have sat idle for literal years.
Hoping I get a break this winter to finish up some triaxle, side dumps, maybe a dio. Will post pics of the finished products!
