Hey guys,

Ive just bought a Liebherr LTM1110-5.1 off Ebay and the lift cylinder doesnt lock. The ring on top of the cylinder has been worn and it now wont hold any boom up position.

Can anyone tell me if theres a replacement cylinder or if theres a way to fix it?

Many thanks

Joe

Joes1989,

I got a response from Deny (in French) that I'll try to translate:

"in the radio sets I find in left-over containers, there are telescopic antennas. I take a tube which is a millimeter more in diameter than the cylinder to repair,
I cut its length to the desired lifting height, then I add an opening, in 2 thirds of the tube, this opening added on the defective lifting gear will help to stabilise it, as it will be stuck between base and the model head cylinder.
You can cut different lengths to get the desired lifting positions. These parts only need to be turned to hide the opening".

I hope it helps.

I forgot to post this picture, attached to a previous Denis' e.mail, showing the final result on a shovel (the arrow indicated a missing lifting screw):

I hope it helps.
