It looks amazing. I have both on order too. I do have one question Martin, my tele sections do not lock very well is there something you did to lock yours in place so they don't just slide back in? Look forward to seeing your jib installed.
Thanks, Jeff

is your model from an earlier series? i got several LTM1800 from diffeerent production batches, and it amazes me what YCC changes over time. nobody can say they do not listen to critic
your booms lock in 50, 92 and 100% telescopic. with those small holes on the inner tele part.
on the newer series YCC drilled the hole on the 100% fullly through, so the pin locks better.
while i can fully understand it its stupid, because when working with jib on a real LTM1800 they only allow you to push the telescopes out to 92%, due tio stability. so YCC thought well, but drilled the wrong hole
and this is where your remedy comes in, just drilll it deeper. maybe not all the way through, but a bit deeper will be enough to hold the boom piece tight when both bolts engage into the hole

Actually YCC added in new boom holding screw pins with the jib set. You just take out the old spring loaded ones and there are solid pin ones in the parts bags. They hold well enough I found to put some weight on it. I did deepen the holes on the boom so that it locks in better though. I find it quite stable now was busy today so I couldn't get around to the jib but will tomorrow.

Martin, thanks for that good news. As Christian pointed out, YCC does seem to listen to constructive criticism, or as some would say "whining". Good for them. I can't wait to spend my money on their next offering. Dave

That is huge and an absolutely stunning crane model. I can see now why people have been raving about the detail on this crane. I wonder what other types of model YCC will decide to make(or get licenced to make/like to make)?. This is a Liebherr so how about a nice mining truck.....

so this model unlike the AC 500 will hold its boom up without the boom crashing down from its weight?

Im pretty sure the extra weight in back from the derrick & floating tray are enough to keep it from tipping at certain angle. That looks awesome I can't wait to get my hands on the LTM-1800/Luffer/derrick!! Thanks for posting them pics!!

boccy99-I hate you. Nothing personal or anything, just I hate you. I as doing everything in my power to resist the two add on options as the PTC is coming, but damn if that just doesn't look FANTASTIC! And what a reach on that beast. It is really impressive to see it all put together like that, hats off to you for our first posting of it. You did a real good job on it. And lets not forget a big thanks to YCC for another great piece. This crane stuff is absolutely getting out of hand with what has become and what will become available to the collector. Where will it go from here is any body's guess. Again boccy99, nothing personal but you just cost me a lot more money! Darn you anyway! (okay just kidding thanks for a great post!!)

I would assume the derrick kit would be pretty much required to use the jib without it going over. Especially at full length and at a decent radius (unless you have 15ft ceilings) Im with Bob on this, im just shelling out the cash for the 1800 now, and theres already so much money to be spent on it. I was going to refrain from the jib, and maybe just do the derrick, but they really do compliment eachother so well. Also, you can never have to many pics.

Thanks for the comments
The detail on this model is amazing I find myself looking at it in wonder some times. To Bob sorry for being so bad but I think you will not be disappointed with the money spent on this and it would look really good in Red and Black. The total length of jib on this is around 6 feet and yes the main boom locks and holds the weight of the jib nicely. As far as were I am going to display this well I think it might just stay were it is I can't see myself moving it realy I would have to take the jib off to move it for sure. and I don't know if I want to go through the 3 hours of rigging it again. Total rig time on this monster including Derrick took me over 7 hours but well worth it.
Peace: Martin
