The first picture of a P&H 4100XPC shovel operating in Australia at a BMA mine in Central Queensland. It is pictured with a 793C and D10R. I think it is time for this machine to be built in 1:50 scale to rival the Bucyrus 495 Series. Come on TWH you can do it! Mitchtim

I also agree. Although I like the older design better than this new one. It screams Spock rather than shovel...

hmmm brandnew 4100 XPC version out, wouldn´t that be the perfect time for a promotional model. in 1:50 of course.
come on dear TWH people, dear P&H people, sit at a desk and sign that deal
this is a sure seller. don´t forget to bring a limited run of those BMA colours right away (and don´t be such a$$holes like last time, denying for months that a custom coloured version would be made only to bring the Syncrude 495 right away...)
so, let me dictate your agenda here:
- meet - handshake - have lunch - tell little chinese wizards to produce model - good quality control (!!!) - announce model to public for reasonable price - listen to feedback from public - present production model - announce standard colour version and 2-3 custom company design - bring model quickly to market on previously announced scheduled date - fill your pockets with collector money - be as happy as collectors

The Syncrude deal was really shi**y. I was not happy about that and still do not have a Syncrude version. As for the timings, lets NOT time it when all those nice YCC cranes hit the shelf Paul R

I'm not to crazy about the rain cap above the cab. But it might help keeping rain off the windows. But if your any heavy wind it ain't gonna help. The green white shovel, with yellow hand rails, is that a Wyoming machine? Can anyone give me any info on the built in cable realer. I know its about a $100,000+ option, but I'm wondering if it gets damaged ever. It would save the shovel operator time while making his moves, because he wouldn't have to transfer from propel to crowd to pull the slack from under the shovel, and then tranfer back to propel to finish his move. I'm sure you would gain 4 loads every time you move, because your cable wouldn't be an issue anymore. Any feed back would be appreciated if anyone in the forum has this option on there shovels.

Tom,
There are at least 3 green with yellow handrail XPB in US coal to my knowledge, 1212 and 1214 are Kennecott energy are were at Jacobs ranch. They have the scoop air intake like your #30. Antelope #516 have one also but with the box air cleaner like your #5 machine.
In australia there are a few green and white, often BMA machines. Goonyella is one.
In answer to the cable reels on the back of the undercarriage, it seems to be dominantly Asia / Australia where they are used. Mt Arthur (4100a), BMA (xpb), Henry (4100a), Batu Hijau (4100a), BHP blackwater (xpb). Also the 5700XPA had them too. The basis is obviously how the mine is set up with the idea there that the shovel can have flexibility unsupported.

One question to the last picture: I thought "BOSS" means "B-Series Oil Sand Shovel"? But this machine is a C-BOSS (C/B-Series Oil Sand Shovel ) LIEBHERR MINING POWERvisit www.baumaschinenmodelle.com for construction and mining equipment in 1:87 scale

I would be interested in a 1/50 XPC as well. The one kicker could end up being the price. If TWH were to build it, it would be an awesome model. However, when factoring metal prices, economy and any other excuses to raise unit cost, a rope shovel seems unlikely for under $600 again. I passed on the Syncrude 495 becuase it was just too much of an increase over the original's price. I can see the logic based on more limited production numbers, it just wasn't worth it to me.

I thought it meant Bituminous Oil Sands Shovel, but wouldn't swear to it.
