Here is a picture of Steve Wolken and me looking over his awesome 1/50th scale Big Muskie Model. I totally loved it !! I have built steel models of many of the worlds largest machines over the years so I surely have to build the worlds largest dragline . The Spade will be completed this spring and I have a couple small orders to do for collectors and then by mid-summer I plan to begin construction of the 1/24th scale Big Muskie. It could be done by Christmas. It will be twice the size of this one in this picture. It will probably be the largest model I ever build in my lifetime. With a very high price tag on it, I'm sure no-one will be able to justify ever buying it, so it could end up in my living room as a conversation piece, LOL .I thought I could position it so the bucket was near my recliner to hold a few lbs of jelly beans, ha,ha.

Hi Don,

Great news that you will build one of the greatest earthmovers ever.

Will you be working from drawings you made yourself or from another source.

I know some drawings, which are copies of the original Bucyrus Erie drawings are obtainable from the HCEA website.

Keep us updated of progress.

Chris

Hey Don, if you make it with remote control, you could use it in your snow removal business. Wouldn't that blow some people's minds.

Regards, Colin
