i dont think reeving is that hard, i just re did the gantry to my 18000 about an hour ago cause it was messed up when it came out of the box and i was to lazy to do it then

its all about patience, it shouldnt be to hard to get done, it doesnt cross any where so its a straight up down left to right reeve, just try and have the reeving distance in the shortest distance possible so there is less chance of the cable jumping off the pulley

you see in this pic, the yellow part the goes on an angle upwards at the bottom of the crane, thats a gantry also called an A Frame.... a luffer is the part on the top of the boom that is slightly angles, there is a difference between a luffing jib and a fixed jib

luffing jib luffs ( has the ability to change the angle of the jib)

fixed jib is fixed in a specific angle and cant be moved like a luffer can

Here is a link to a joint venture project between forum friend bluebarn and myself on the how to rig a crane. We did a Sennebogen 5500 Starlifter, which other than size is basically the same rigging as the LR1280. Maybe this will give you the general idea of what is required, Its not that hard once you get the hang of it.

I always thought that the fly jib was the same as the fixed jib. That is the term I have heard used when the jib is used with a hydraulic truck crane. Any operators confirm??

Lr 1280 was my first crane and definitely one of the best cranes. It was fairly easy to rig and assemble. I have one set of boom extensions on it right now.

Stock

+ 1 set of extensions compared to my 16000

fly jib supports itself with no pendants ,fixed jib has strut and pendants. all the manufacturers have different lingo.
