Hi all, I talked dad into letting us take a Saturday off a make the 2 hour drive west to the HCEA show at Brownsville today. I took close 150 pics and a few videos and had a blast. Saw some awesome, awesome pieces of equipment, in action to boot, met some nice people, and just had a blast. probably the biggest highlight for me was when I shook hands with and got to meet and talk to Keith Haddock. that's enough of my rambling, but it was a great day and many thanks to the people at national pike and the HCEA for such an awesome event. Enjoy, Scott

It was an awsome show! The best one they had so far!!!!!

Tons of new "old" equipment, and trucks.

BRI, Ralph Garber, and acouple other vendors were there.

I had a blast Cool , and even picked up a Liebherr LRB 255.

Some model prices were crazy, a Conrad Liebherr R954C was $145, and one dealer had 657's for $50, $55, and another for $42. Eh? Thats why you shop around.

Backhoes pics of models were from the BRI stand.

Thanks for posting the pics. I would love to have seen (and heard) the BE steam shovel in person. Looks similar to one shown on a History Channel show about excavators. Nice restoration on this one... Applause

Those TC-12's sound mean don't they? There's at least two that I know of. I saw one at a show in Sharon Springs NY. That one belongs to MacFadden and Sons. Can't wait to see it again next year!

The TC-12 was there before.THats a nice LeTournea scraper.I ma surprised to see the giant Caterpillar 992B there.Who owns that and how was that shipped in there.THat is 550hp,10yards,about 15 feet high and weights about 145,000lbs.It might be the biggest wheel loader ever to be at HCEA national convention.Would like to be at the 2009 meeting in Bowling Green.Have never seena ond 60 crawler

JD544, Im pretty sure thats a 992A. We have an identicle 992 to the one that was at the show. Ours is an A model, and I walked around that 992 acouple times and it looked like an A to me.

Must be nice to fix up an old Cat and play with it at shows. Heck, were still working ours trying to make a buck. Not talking

I just got home it was great. I went to the shows at that same location in 93 and again in 98? but there was twice as much iron there this time! I loved seeing the steam rigs, that is about the only place I ever see them run. It was fascinating to finally see a Tournapull Super C, I grew up hearing horror stories about them from the old timers.

Dump on the edges, the middle will take care of itself.
Never look down on ANYONE! Unless it is to lift them up.

The TS12 was brought to Brownsville from around Sagetown, Pa. The HCEA Show was held there about five years ago and this same dozer was at that show. My understanding is that Brownsville will be its pemanent home. I believe that it is owned by either Dean Wack or hs brother Mike. Many of the large shovels are also there year round. Would have loved to have seen them transport that TS12. I am sure they had to split it. I saw one last year on two lowboys at a job south of Columbus. Looked real strange seeing half a dozer going down the road.

Mack,The rear of this 992 has got the same rear cab guard as a 992B which the original 992 did not have when introduced in 1968.The 992 acquired that in 1973 when the B-Series was introduced.Other then this characteristic I cannot tell the two apart.

I heard that 992 was bought new in 1974 for 360K The owners nephew told me that last night and this machine wasn't used much. He doesn't do much strip mining any more and he likes to bring his big toys to show.
The TC12 is owned by Jay Wack and I believe it was delivered with both sides together. One of my friends hauled the blade alone.
