Thanks to Bryce for these images he shot at the Vegas Convention Center... Amazing the massive amount of work and money that goes into this show of giant iron..for 3 days... . Amazing... and think about nearly all this mass of steel INSIDE the building... and this is only a portion of the show. Bryce posted a link in his thread for more pics of the set up and cranes and projects around Vegas check out the nearly 300 images here.... http://s85.photobucket.com/albums/k77/brycecleveland

WASHINGTON, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- MINExpo INTERNATIONAL(R) 2008, the mining industry's premier exhibition of equipment, technology and services, is only two weeks away and members of the media interested in covering the show are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Sponsored by the National Mining Association (NMA), the show is scheduled for Sept. 22-24 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The scale of MINExpo is massive, with some of the world's largest machinery on display at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Exhibitors are busy assembling equipment that will start moving to the show floor in 10 days. See footage here: MINExpo Show Footage. (http://www.nma.org/multimedia/minexpo_setup.wmv)
While previous shows have been enormous, this year's event will be a little different; it's even bigger. MINExpo INTERNATIONAL(R) 2008 will be the largest show ever held. More than 1,200 exhibitors will be showcased throughout approximately 600,000 square feet of space and will attract more than 30,000 visitors from around the world. The show will highlight state-of-the-art equipment and services to the international mining community.
A key theme of this year's show will be the record global demand for the coal, minerals and equipment needed to sustain growing economies and populations

The Mining World Goes to Las Vegas! All you need to know about MINExpo 2008. I would not say ALL you need to know, but there are a couple of good articles about the convention in there. - Chris
