Last episode of the "Russian period", haulage to a local military museum, of 2 Red Army demobilized vehicles, dating back from the Cold War period: MAZ 6430-21 6x4/2 tractor (modified WSI model) and Blumhardt 2-axle semi-low bed semi-trailer (homemade model) carrying 2 Molotov GAZ BRDM-1/9P110 4x4/2 (8x8/2) armored vehicles (6 tonnes each) fitted with 9P110 anti-tank missiles systems (modified Hachette editions of Solido models) To be continued. It should be noted that BRDM vehicles were fitted with a clever lifting/lowering device acting on their 4 central wheels (allowing for any 4x4 unit to be easily modified into a 8x8 vehicle, with a positive impact on their cross-country performance). That mechanism was present on Solido early BRDM 1/50 models (wrongly identified as "BTR 40" units, though), but was not modeled on later models and these low cost reproductions: if central wheels are still present, they are here in fixed high position. Back to Great Britain with a transport from Stiller: MAN 22-403 FPLT 6x2/4 tractor and Crane-Fruehauf 3-axle flatbed semi-trailer (modified Corgi models) carrying a 10.5 tonnes BR Crosfields railway container tank (Corgi(*) load) and 24 sheeted pinewood beams of 3.3 tonnes (Tekno load) Note (*): it seems to me that the railway "demountable non-wheeled tank" is widely oversized as the capacity indicated on the side (8 tonnes) should result in a much smaller 1/50 unit. In addition, a BR advert for that type of services found during my search on the topic, reveals a maximum capacity of 1000 gallons (or 4.55m3), not applicable to this tank: Therefore, any information on the 1/1 scale mobile tank modeled by Corgi is more than welcome. Regards. Guy

Dutch haulage with a tractor which - considering its very specific 2-tone paint - was probably part of the Stoof/Mammoet fleet in an "earlier life": DAF FA 95-350 ATI 4x2/2 tractor (modified Tekno kit) and Nooteboom OSD-48-03/L 3-axle low bed semi-trailer (modified Tematoys model) carrying a 10.55 tonnes Volvo-BM 6300 4x4 articulated backhoe-loader (Joal model) Regards. "Charge Utile" ( THE French magazine dedicated to vintage trucks) has recently embarked in articles related to products of the Spanish truck manufacturer Pegaso. That resulted in me revisiting 2 old Joal Pegasos, which I thought were undersized for 1/50 scale models: Both models are not representing existing units (the tractor is far too short and I haven't found any 3-wheeler in the Comet range), but cabs are a good representation of "sleeping" cabs of that range of light vehicles, which contributed to the Pegaso success in Spain. After some web searches and with the help of manufacturer's drawings, both vehicles almost finalized, waiting to be painted: - left: Pegaso Comet 1091 L 4x2/2 box truck (modified Joal model) - right: Pegaso Comet 2030 DR 4x2/2 tractor (modified Joal model) and Forss-Parator 1-axle sheeted dropside semi-trailer (modified Nacoral model). To be continued. Guy

The Comet 2030 DR tractor and its Forss-Parator semi-trailer (*): Note (*): apparently, the 2030 DR only existed in day cab version, but I didn't want to cut the cab off. Forss-Parator being a Swedish trailer manufacturer, there is a very low probability to get one of their units imported at that time in Spain: but as Nacoral (another Spanish model producer) made a very nice model of their drawbar trailers... Let's call that "the magic of modeling"! Regards. Guy
