Vitesse - Portuguese model producer - realized in the 80s various Saurer trucks (the famous Swiss truck manufacturer). Some of these models were later taken-over by Corgi (S4C trucks) and Tek Hoby (S4C trucks, 1CR1D coaches and 3CT1D box vans or fire-engine trucks...). Two of their products, sold as 1/43 units by Vitesse, while they are... exact 1/50 models! - left: coach with Seitz Typ Wallis II open-top body on a Saurer 1CR1D 4x2/2 chassis, - right: Tüscher & Co double cabbed fire-engine pumper body on a Saurer 3CT1D 4x2/2 chassis. Difficult as well in those days to find a local Army truck that was not produced by Saurer: Note: in a foreseeable future, the Swiss Army truck should tow a JuWo FK 58 1-axle field kitchen trailer (Austrian origin) made from a modified Solido model. Regards. Guy

We cross the Atlantic Ocean to meet an American contractor dealing with landscape maintenance: Ford F250-Lariat 4x4/2 pick-up truck equipped with 2 portable access ramps (modified Sword model), loaded with a Vermeer CTX 100 skid-steer tracked mini-loader (SpecCast model) and towing a Vermeer BC 1000 XL brush chipper 1-axle trailer unit (modified SpecCast model) To be continued. The fire trucks look great. The aerial ladder is in a configuration that seems to be common in larger US cities. With the work platform on the end of the ladder, it's referred to as a tower ladder. I do remember when most of our ladder trucks had the turntable front-mounted, but it's not as prevalent these days.

Many thanks for your clarification. I had noticed the type of ladder you mentioned (front-mounted) but I didn't know that it was not in favor anymore. For us Europeans, these front-mounted ladders and the trailed ones (with a firemen driving the rear axle) are typical of American fire-engines and mythical in a way, together with the profusion of chromes often seen on US fire trucks.

Regards. Guy I do agree with this comment! I loved American fire trucks as a kid as I thought they looked awesome, especially with the long ladders. Even now I think they are the best looking fire trucks out there. What would I do to have a ride in one with blues on even now! This almost 50 year old would be a kid again. Paul R

100% Agree with Paul,America has the best looking(and sounding) fire trucks.I can spend hours,on Youtube,watching vids of NYFD trucks,alone.Love the urgency of that airhorn noise! The only thing is,I cannot decide which one I like best,Rescue 1,Tower ladders,(hydraulic telescopic)or,ladder trucks.Definitely 3 axles.

In 2019, transfer in Rotterdam Harbor (Holland) of an electrical item produced by the Siemens Austrian subsidiary for the onshore substation of the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm, via Sutton Bridge harbor (Lincolnshire - UK): Scheuerle SPMT 12 24x8/24 12-line self-propelled modular trailer (IMC elements) loaded with a 230 tonnes Siemens ???MVA/400kV electric transformer (IMC load).
