It was produced by Renault from 1946 (and sold from 1947) to 1961, with over a million units sold. It was nicknamed "the lump of butter" because of his shape and of German Army Afrika Korps surplus paint used on first models. Craig, Morris Motors Ltd was a British car company and Minor one of their models produced after WW2: launched in 1948, it was sold over a million units to 1972. Like other members of the British car industry, Morris merged several time until British Leyland selected in 1984 to concentrate on the Austin brand and to drop the Morris name. Today, their Oxford manufacturing premises are owned by the BMW Group and produce the New Mini, with the Morris trademark being owned by a Chinese company. As opposed to the Renault 4CV, its engine was conventionally placed at front but I agree, they look similar. Both Mercedes-Benz and Kässbohrer buses ("Heidelberg line" posted last Friday and the "M-HS 7104' registration posted today) tow a trailer used for extra luggage, a combination common here in Europe.

In order to get their models known, Berliet organized several missions across the Sahara desert. The magic of modelling: the VPD truck alongside another Berliet truck, involved in a later mission (1932):     Regards. Guy

Hello Craig, The Lyon CTL bus company used late seventies that Berliet 620 KB truck. It is now part of the "Fondation Berliet" and is visible in their premises, near Lyon:  Regards. Guy

Berliet not only produced trucks but also - in early years - cars and railway equipment (hence their logo showing from 1906 an American locomotive, following some car sales to Alco in the USA).
