I got a few friends that still have B81's. Theres 2 old timers around here that were still running B81's together up until a few years ago. Work them every day next to the newer trucks.

Here's a few photo's I snapped at a truck show in New Jersey several years ago. Completely restored, two MACKs and a KW Dart. Trucks are all owned by the same gentleman. Note the plates on the bumpers, "BIG", "BIGGER", and "BIGGEST".

Does one person own all three of those dump trucks?
I've seen the M100 in one of my Mack books (apparently the guy is going to re-paint it Mack orange btw)
Great shots

Terrific thread. The webbed dump boxes especially make those AutoCars standout. Applause Applause Applause

The 22-25 yd trucks used at Shasta Dam were White Motor Co. trucks, custom built, and had Butane powered engines in them. In the day, they were about as big as you could get. The same man who was the construction superintendent on Hoover Dam also did Shasta Dam, "both were record holders in various ways". That man was Frank Crowe and he did things very big and very fast.He specd ALL the major equipment and he liked it big. Both projects set records for concrete placement and earthmoving volume vs time that stand to this very day. Both jobs were finished ahead of shedule... by as much as a year. I have many rare book on the major dam/power projects and the equipment used. Most of it was custom built. The big shovels on Shasta and Grand Coulee were Bucyrus Erie 120B's straight electric shovels. Monsters in those days.

This is making for some great reading. I sure enjoy seeing and reading about how trucks have grown and changed.
