Hi Noel,
I was waiting for a post with a close up of the boom, would it be better the other way round on the trailer?
Are these the only counterweights supplied or does it have the thinner 5 tonne ones?
Will you be posting any photos of the different boom configerations including close ups?
On the last but one photo taken from above, have you started to gold plate it!!!!!
What are the pulleys like? have I got to start making one of my pulley kits for this crane!!!! I have nearly saved enough for the factory colour version. The more I see this the more I want one.

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Tim, first of all the pulleys are metal and very good so you wont need to make a kit for it. Second, i thought about putting it the other way around but i thought this would be more suitable for reversing the trailer to the crane and leaving off the boom in position without having to drive the crane into it after! And finally, no these are the only counterweights apart from the tray that holds them, oh and yes the outriggers on the boom do work! Almost everything on the model is made from metal, from the feet for the outriggers on both the crane and the boom, down to the small sheaves, pullys and fittings at the ends of the guying ropes that would often be seen made in plastic. I have to hand it to NZG, they have really outdone themselves. Theres at least one spare for every pin, screw and bolt, oh and they even included a nice little package with a spare set of wing mirrors and beacon lights which i think is a great little touch because we all know what can happen to them over the years!! Fantastic value for money. More pics to come soon, i'm fighting a losing battle with what can only be described as the smallest nuts and bolts in the world here at the moment!!

I'm not as into Mammoet stuff as many people are, but I have to admit... That's really nice looking.

This is one thing I was wondering and a shame that it does not have these. However, it does look an amazing model! I would say it wouldn't be too difficult to make the thin weights. Thanks for sharing Noel. Spoke to the dealer where I bought mine from and he tells me it will be week 52 before he gets them. Looks worth the wait though! Paul R

You are redeemed Homer ....until mine gets here, those pics and your obvious pleasure at posting them will keep me satiated and a very happy person...thank you so very much. PS....we will all chip in and get a hitman to solve the cat problem for you...... Assassinate the cat I say.... That will look right in place on that window ledge with the appropriate lighting.....scrap those girly vase things ...

I actually do have a cat but he's not allowed in the house and lives outside so hopefully it'll be safe enough!! Anyway thanks for all the kind comments and words, i'll post some more pics tomorrow with the boom extended and fly jib on, I cant face fiddling with more of those tiny little brass nuts and bolts now at this hour of the night and even if I could, I cant even see them now anyway lol! Edit: GC1 I dont think it'd go down too well if I replaced those vase thingys with my crane.. i'm sure if I did the crane would be thrown out to the cat!!
