It's looks like it's going to be a nice model from first gear. I don't know what is it but 2010 seems like it's going to be a good year for first gear. This is like there 3rd or 4th model release. Keep it up!

Are they coming in white and black only or have they announced another color as well?

If First Gear releases that red Mack dump I see a red on red version in my future to match my black truck.

The info directly from First Gear's Website:
**Take note of the hint in the last paragraph of the write up...wonder what it could be....???**

1/50 Scale Beavertail Trailer

Another addition to our construction line

First Gear is pleased to announce the latest release in our ever-growing 1/50 scale construction equipment line --
a beavertail trailer -- or sometimes known as a tag-along trailer with beavertail.

This new trailer is a pintle-eye hitched tag trailer with beavertail deck. The beavertail deck has an 8 degree incline and includes rear folding ramps. Features include wood plack decking and chain eyelet details with reflective safety striping on the bed sides, and two-axle multi-leave suspension with eight tires, which allos for an overall weight capacity of 21 tons.
The diecast metal replica dimensions are 9"L x 2"W x 0.75"H and weighs nearly 0.5 lbs.

This new addition to our 1/50 scale product line can be paired with the recently released 1/50 Peterbilt Model 367 Dump Truck, or the previously released 1/50 scale Mack Granite MP Dump Truck. Both of these dump truck and trailer combinations will be offered, and the trailer will also be available as a stand-alone piece.

It is also imperative to let you know that several of our existing 1/50 scale construction equipment models will fit nicely on this trailer to create some interesting displays and dioramas. Our 1/50 scale Komatsu D51 EX and PX crawlers,
the 1/50 scale Komatsu WB146 backhoe loader, the 1/50 scale International TD-15 crawlers and the
1/50 scale International 175 crawlers are all appropriate models to display on this new trailer!

So, check out your collection and see which model you have to put together an outstanding construction diorama.
If you find you need more for your display, check out our online product store to see which
models are still available to add to your collection!

Make sure you stay tuned for future Tread Marks newsletters as we will be releasing a new replica model that this trailer could also be paired with. You will not want to miss it so make sure your subscription is up-to-date.

I saw that hint too. Assuming "paired with" means towed by it could be a new truck tool.

One major vocational truck brand that is not currently represented in 1:50 is International.

I would like to see a "Workstar" dump truck.

My thoughts.....

If it is an International, it will blow the 7000 series truck done by conrad out of the water. I also hope it is an International Dump Truck, but first gear, LETS DO A NEW DUMP BED! Really, you have run the rock body into the ground. If it is a workstar, it also wouldn't entirely suprise me if it was a single axle rig. If it isn't a dump truck, my next thought is that it could be a 1:50 service truck. Many possibilities, I have high hopes, a big thank you to first gear.....as I previously said it is way overdue for a tag trailer, so thanks first gear! I can't wait to see what comes next.

I wonder if thats why the trailer comes with a 'pintle hitch"? Maybe its a retro kit for the dumps that don't have them. The only dump I have that has one is my Pete 367.

I too would love to see an International WorkStar, and a single axle (possibly a crew cab) would be nice.
Or even a Freightliner M2 106V.
I'd love to see a J&J or Thiele dump body design though.

Dave, I don't see where it says it will come with a hitch, I think if you want it hooked to a Mack you will have to buy the Mack/trailer combo. I could be very wrong.

You can purchase pintle-hitches from other sources and apply them to your trucks with some work.

Plan to do this myself, by getting a few from Don Mills. He's got some great stuff especially for older Macks.

I found that on another site, although they may have been referring to the pintle eye.

cat20 and GraniteFan713 are correct, according to Joyce at First Gear, the trailer will be supplied with the hitch end for the truck.
