Yup your right.,At that time the 12600 was the biggest game in town and Mammoet was some dutch outfit from Europe..

Thank you Gaz, I'd been wondering about the old girl where abouts. Glade she's still working.

Not the live mast Lostacrane, the A- frame that houses the upper winches I mean on the 126 the AK912 has none.

Thanks for those pics! I would absolutely LOVE it if Mammoet used the 12-6 to do the coke drum replacements over here in So Cal early next year, but I guess I will have to "settle" for the PTC!

Rather unexpectedly I got the call to go on the LG1550 for a few weeks and 1st Job was head into Methil last week, this ment I got to the the CC12600 for real, with my own eyes and i'm telling you now pictures do not do this crane justice. Got a good look around it and spoke to a fella who says the big lift is 500t @ 50m radius, thats PTC territory and goes to show what a super crane this is.

The luffer will be going on eventually and is on site already, the LR1600 is the tail crane. On site was ALE's AK912 and our own LG1550. Not a bad place to be if your fond of cranes!

The condition of the 12-6 is just stunning, looks like a new crane, the crew actually polish it and keep it immaculate.

Enjoy

Damn it... I'd have driven down if I knew you were going to be there. Smiley

Any chance they'd let a lay person in if chaperoned by the likes of yourself? ^^

So I managed to get myself to Methil to repeat my trespassing offence from 2011 when I went to see the ALE CC8800 Whistle I would have gone closer but didn't want to get into trouble... but damn, that thing is so nice and so HUGE.

NB: These pics are BIG - click to download the full size versions.

Can't find that thread on this forum, search didn't help... but do the pics happen to be the same ones as on this Flickr site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/43180509@N08/4273351721/ ? Then I already know them.
