Great and thorough info DC .." You da man " was wondering when you would drop in on this crane topic ! Maybe you can answer this one "What is the reason the 12600 cab in a lot of pics is reversed is it ladder accessability the only thing I can think of can't really see that though ? TFS Chet

Eef, That's an amazing set of pics. My favorite is the one with the American tailing the PTC. When did American stop making cranes ? I assume it was the same time it was acquired by Terex. TFS

I still like to see some 1:50 scale models of these, specially the truck mounted ones. Sigh one can dream
As Mammoet says "SIZE DOES MATTER". Slowly collecting Mammoet 1:50 scale stuff. Mainly cranes!

Hi Paul You are almost right there , they did produce a small amount for a short period under the terex name. At the moment they do still sell under the American name but those are 100% IHI cranes. ( HC80 , 110 , 165 , 230 , 275 ) Not bad machines to be honest , but not produced by American / Terex. American HC modelsEef

If you have some photo's from American cranes please join Flickr and post them in the group. Even if you only have 2 or so you are more than welcome , every contribution makes it better.
