Berliet GPE 4 tank transporter, assigned in small numbers to the French Army before the Second World War (Hachette):     Note: in order to provide me with better pictures, military modelers have noted that Jean-Jacques used a 1/50 Solido Somua S35 tank as a load for the 1/43 tank transporter. Craig, The Berliet GPE 4 was designed to handle light tanks, like Renaults of 10.6 and 16 tonnes or the Somua of 19.5 tonnes, all with the French Army at that time. The tank could, either climb under its own power on the transporter bed via rear ramps (carried with the truck) or be lifted by the lifting frame (when the tank was not operational, for example). Thanks Guy: I really like that model. I used to collect Dinky Toys military models. I also collected Britains military trucks, tanks...etc. How far back o these Hatchett models go? Craig

Craig Craig, Hachette - like Altaya and Atlas - are selling their products exclusively in press stands or by mail order. Some of their 1/43 models are produced by Ixo, but they sold as well Solido and Dinky re-editions in the past, all made in China and available at reduced prices by collection themes at a rate of one a week. I know that their various collections sold pretty well in Europe (they are cheap considering the quality) but I'm afraid that they are not present in US. Berliet TR 350 tractor (Hachette):     In a recent email, Jean-Jacques indicated to me that - considering the end of the Hachette collection dedicated to vintage Berliet models - he would probably stop collecting models in a 1/43 scale.
