John, Thanks for the offer! Don't really go to the site at night much anymore. They took off the luffer, but it is still down there. The Harris truck drivers told me that the counter weights were going to their yard. Lomma hasn't taken any parts to their yard yet (it looks). They are setting a new "arch" right now, which is the last piece to be set in, so I guess that it will be boomed down and disassembled

TFS Chet I agree Chet, That would have been an amazing site to see. I'm just glad that everything is returning to a "somewhat" normal pace there and that people still realize that they weren't just "2 buildings" in New York.

I went there Tuesday night. Got in around 4pm. Very frustrating with just a street view of the complex. I wonder if this is where Jesse was pulling the blocks from. I saw they were being loaded into Cardella roll-offs. Shot this picture around 7:15pm.

That's my gang..I was hanging off the wall down below, Hookin up...Those weighed about 25-30,000lbs each. VERY time consuming process taking them out..Each one has to be handled differently. They all have fractures in them, and I'm sure ya's can imagine what would happen if half a block fell 100' to the lower work area.. Started at 5, finished at 12. 20+ blocks done, 120+ to go....lol Stay safe and dry out there everyone with this damn storm coming....

^ haha yeah just only if you could see them better from the street, still cool though!
Went to the site at about 9pm and stayed until about 9:45pm. They were working with the AC500 picking the Favco tower crane's carbody, and also seen some boom on trailers. The 18000 is boomed down, don't know if it is staying like that though. The AC500 will most likely lift the 18000 out of the foundation. Photos will be up later, here is a quick one..Check out this, they took off the boom on the tower crane (1000ft+) and set it next to T1's base to let it spin in the wind because of the supposed "hurricane" heading over here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ceva321/6084369332/http://www.flickr.com/photos/ceva321/6084081562/in/photostream/

Before anything else, again, great thread Vin! Fantastic job! I wish I was there. So after watching episode 5 of "The Rising", I am not too sure I like the look of the new transit hall. A design like that, that size in that design environment? It is one thing to see his work in the Canary Islands, certain spots in Europe or even on the shore of Lake Michigan...but in that neighborhood in lower Manhattan? Personal opinion yes, but am I alone in thinking this? - Chris
