That's a really innovative way to do it Kenny, some smart minds going to work there. I'll pass that photo on for sure !

Here's our solution. I have some video too, I just need to dig it up...

Bolt tracks on and unload. Easier said than done.

Thanks for posting Danny! You ain't kidding gets way easier said than doneTeeth Back at the crane yard where the crane is stored on blocks we share the same method as you as getting the trailer out... Just throw a couple 1/2 inch chains on and yank her out from the rearCool

Do you guy's face a lot of issue's with tacking the tracks off? It was almost comical watching trying to yank the tracks off this machine... 3 broken chains, a ripped off tow hook, and 4.5 hours later they were finally offWhistle here's a pic of the crane guy's trying to pull out one side with a super 20... (those were that chains last few seconds of life...d'oh! )

...And here's a little bit better pic to illustrate how the turntable works...

Once again, a very innovative idea ! Sucking the tracks out is the hard part, pushing them isn't all that bad. In the series of pictures I posted, it was 100 degree about full humidity at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. I specifically remember the driveshaft giving us a pain in the rear too, we were there until 5 in the evening with that thing.

To suck tracks out, the common method we see in the city as demonstrated by Lomma is using a cherry picker ( RT Crane ) and a big piece of timber. They strap the timber to the hook of the cherry picker and then chain ( a short distance ) between the track and the cherry picker and back-up slow. They gain more control and have a " brake " this way in my opinion. They seem to have it down, it dosent take long at all ! To push the tracks back in, the use the same process, only they don't chain up, just give a nice light shove with the cherry picker. I'll get some photos to share the next time we do one of these. Probably won't be for a while though. Hope you don't mind if I share your turntable with the guys at the yard ?
