Cool pics ...For those in the knowing I understand how the prototyping is done however how does it get mass produced to 500 units ?
I doubt they would make dies for each part and cast it sounds real time consuming on such a large model. Now with 3D printing machines easy to see how the first one is done.

That's correct Rowan. Some will call the super structure the upper structure as well and vice versa....either one is fine really.

It does look a great model for sure and will be a great addition to those getting one. I am holding off at the moment as I am wanting the SGC120 and can't afford both, especially now the H N Krane LTM11200 has been announced!
And then there is the issue of room!
Great photos though and really nice to see the process so hats off to TWH for allowing these type of pictures to be shared.

Mind you it is almost as big as an aircraft carrier, so superstructure might be appropriate. ChrisPH4100XPC@gmail.com

Chris, I think that superstructure is probably a term is more relevant to mining / surface equipment but hey, close enough. Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

Update both 31000 are being rigged up in Manitowoc test yard. Sucks the model is going to be so far behind. Better be worth the wait. Seems a lot of the dates fly buy before twh models are released. Sometimes it worth waiting for

[/img] Here is the pic of how the twh 31000 model will come in this boom configuration. Awhile back heared the real 31000 was going to have longer boom and job. Could be part of reason why for 20m of free boom to idk. Sure it will be amazing. Like seeing both 31000 in the test yard lol

I think this has to be THE model of 2011, it looks simply amazing and I cannot wait to get mine, I know the Sarens SGC and Mammoet coke drum HH is out this year but I think I'm looking forward to this one the most. Short of a LR13000 being cast i'm thinking this will take pride of place in my collection for a long time to come.

Must get one Zach! This thing will most likely go into a vacuumed sealed case after the assembly video and some lift videos! Just insane how much detail it has, I don't want to f it up
