Manfred Right, even some manufacturers could learn from your model, regarding quality and details accuracy. Outstanding job Jason. This is one of the best scratch built project I've seen too. Stephane

That is amazing!! I hope your competition are shaking in their boots. Just the sound of an idling engine is all that is missing.

Truly great work Jason! Better add on to your house for all the awards coming your way. If I may ask , did you get the schematics for the plumbing from Cat? Any thoughts of bringing it to the DHS open house? Mike

That's a real beauty. If you don't make it first place, you'll be on the podium for sure.... Hey Jason, I just had that crazy idea looking at the lights on the excavator; how about adding sound to the diorama? I am guessing you could find good videos on Youtube. All you need to find is an idle engine recording of it, with background mining sounds (like a truck warning alarm going backwards, and so) and put a little speaker and amplifier underneath your diorama. Maybe even just a cell phone playing a sound record in loop (and plugged in) would do the trick... Even more chances to have an edge over the competition. Who knows, next year you might add a diesel fumes burner if smoking regulations of the building allows for Just my thoughts... I know, I have that tendency of thinking too much, especially at night Stephane

You can see the cooling fan, there is one on each side. These will be weathered with some dark dust color for final showing Everyone needs a place to keep their drinks cold for a long shift so I made this yeti Final test of the lighting system , look very close at the cab, after the glass was installed it was hard to see the interior, so i added recessed lights in the ceiling NIkl Scale Models
