Coles used it back in the '70s and the most recent example I can think of are some of the Terex American HC series, which were actually IHI machines. Have to disagree here with you , the first new series from American ( A100HC later called HC125 , A1500HC later called the HC210 ) were the the ones with the extendable and retractable counterweight ( called Workhorse ). Those machines were no IHI machines , all the later HC models are IHI machines ( HC 60 80 110 165 275 350) But those machines don't have the Workhorse Feature. Eef Thank you very much for the explanation Eef! I was only attempting to express that the concept isn't new. The American's were the last I was aware of using a moving counterweight until recent years. So; was the HC designation conceived at the end of Americans life, or given by Terex? Perhaps craneman can help me learn about "intellectual property"? Both the Mani and Sany have the counterweights sliding along the sides of the upperworks. On the Sany the operating cylinders are mounted on the top. On the Mani they are not in plain sight, but are certainly inboard. Does it really matter?

Long time Manitowoc crane designer (father of the VPC) left Manitowoc after the VPC you saw in the pictures on Pg. 3 was conceived but before it was made public, he signed an agreement that he would not share that Trade Secret before Manitowoc made it public. The VPC holds two patents (intellectual property) which they claim were given to Sany for a good chunk of change. The position of the slide cylinders is irrelevant, when the whole concept and principle were simply misappropriated for money.

I like the suggestion that those interested gather at the DHS booth at noon each day.
As a follow up to craneman's comments, the individual formerly with Manitowoc, supposedly had first hand and detailed knowledge of Manitowoc's patent structure. It is also alleged that three additional individuals were recruited. I recently saw a piece in the media that outlined more about this suit and after seeing the pictures herein , I clearly understand why the suits were filed. Note there are two actions that I am aware of. One is Manitowoc versus Sany and the other is Manitowoc versus a key former employee who is a US citizen in the US courts over employment agreements and confidentiality of intellectual property. Note, that individual is represented to have coordinated with patent counsel the filing of Manitowoc's patents. I claim no inside knowledge but am relying on what I have read in various media.

As you surely know by now, Nathan's is just down the hallway east from you immediately after the grand lobby on the left. If you have vouchers for $12 hot dogs, I'm stopping by for sure!

Don't walk up to a roulette table and put all your money on black. Wear comfortable shoes, get the app for your phone so you can find the booths your looking for and have a good plan for getting to the show and back. If your going to ride the monorail to the show and your coming from the south, try to get on at the first station (MGM Grand) or try to wait for the peak rush to die down as the train will be packed before it gets to the second station. Also, take a light coat with you. The desert, this time of the year can get pretty cold and windy at night. Even though the projected highs are in the 70's during the day, the lows are in the upper 40's/low 50's. I have seen a lot of people walking around in the evening, freezing. A lot of the show is outside, don't get a sunburn. Even if you don't gamble take a walk through some of the big themed casinos on the strip. It is amazing how much money they spend. There is a lot to see in the Vegas area besides the show and gambling. If you have never been to the south west take a drive out to the Hoover dam, check out a cactus, shoot a lizard off of a rock and have a good time. What happens in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas and remember, no matter what the stripper tells you, there is no sex in the champagne room.

Awesome thanks for the reply, I plan on taking the free shuttle from the hotel, is that a good thing or is it just a ruse?
