Salut Guy!! One word come to my minds about your fella's collection.....Amazing!!! Do you think you could share pics of the logging truck in the 1st page without the lumbers on, please?? I want to built one of those for me collection using a Dinky 888 Berliet oil field truck and build the trailer from scratch. But i need details on how the trailer is set-up to the truck, among others..... Really nice, thankes for sharing and congratulate your friend. Max.
Cat 245.....Now and Forever  I am looking for industrial auction brochures from Ritchie Bros, Miller & Miller, Forke Bros, First Team Auction, Max Rouse, etc from the 70's, 80's and 90's.I am a collector and heavy equipment enthusiast and these pamphlets are loaded with nice pictures of cleaned and freshly painted equipment.Thet don't have much value once the sale is over but they are a great help to me in preserving the memory of machines that are no longer being built.Please, help my hobby by looking in your old storage boxes and file folders for these old auction sale brochures.Your help is much appreciated.

Hello Max, I checked but couldn't find any picture of the 1/43 logging trailer shown without logs on it. I have posted below some pictures of similar real equipment:    As you can see, that was a sort of semi-trailer with a central pole sliding into the rear tandem chassis. A structure fitted to the front bolster was connecting everything together as a single unit. Generally the tow truck was equipped with a turntable (instead of a 5th wheel), making the combination difficult to disconnect. Before heavy forest cranes were produced, a double winch installed behind the cab was used to load logs onto the trailer, with its cables running through front and rear outer bolster masts:  I hope this helps.

Steve Steve, The body fitted on a Berliet Stradair could be, either used for livestock (cows, etc) transport on the bottom floor, or for smaller animals (like sheep or pigs), using both levels:  The intermediate floor could be removed, as required. I hope this helps. Guy

Does the handling gantry move?Is it fixed in one position?I'm pretty sure the VTC had a Berliet 8x4 tractor,with the missile launcher as a trailer,was that produced in 1/43,to go with this truck?

modelmanic, I assume that the gantry remains in fold-down position on this 1/43 model, as all hydraulic rams are painted together with the rest of the unit. The Berliet/Marrel is a VTC ( Vehicule Transporteur de Charge, which could be to be translated by Warhead Haulage Vehicle). I suppose that the combination you refer to is this one: https://www.flickr.com/photos/hayes69/14024095638/in/photostream/(scroll down from that picture: there should be 7 additional ones, all shot in the Berliet Foundation premises, near Lyon). That one is a VTE ( Vehicule Transporteur Erecteur, to be translated by Haulage and Erection Vehicle), made of a Berliet TF 8x4 and a Latecoere box 3-axle semi-trailer, which can move into vertical position over the launching silo. Yes.That Berliet is the only one I have seen,with straight lines,no need for looks.That gantry,looks fixed from the pics.Still,a very nice model of a unique real vehicle.
