No way will this model be out for a year, 4th quarter 2012 at best. TWH is horrible with production, they either don't have the money, or don't know what they are doing, or both. The latest Grove 5095s and 4100s just went into production, they were supposed to deliver 6 months ago. Well it is looking like I won't have to buy Paul R. lunch Mark

I can't imagine the 31000 has that many parts to cast, it's not even that big or complicated right? It'll be worth the wait as long as somebody repaints it rust-o-leum red.

Yah is a big disapointment to a lot buyers. Even the lampson16000 way behind. Yet the otis shovels were made and released fast. I considered buying a second one but no deals or discount. Their has been a ton of more time in this model. Twh better blows us away with this one not let us down.

I think twh should either build better quality pieces or lower the prices.

Hello Brandon, Ben Stalvey has also emailed me regarding this rumor. I will copy and paste the same information that I have provided him: We have a variety of proposals into Manitowoc for the 31000 project (as well as other future Manitowoc models) from which we will not have an answer until early next year. So yes, I would agree that first quarter 2012 would be rather unrealistic. Though I wouldn’t feel comfortable giving out any dates (3rd quarter included) until we have an answer from Manitowoc and I have confirmed dates/production schedule from the factory. Once all these elements align, an official announcement will be made. Until then, however, everything is speculation and unofficial. I am glad you are looking forward to the 31000, and apologize for the wait. Please know that we are also eager to get this model into collectors’ hands... Though we will not rush a project into production given all the issues that we had been dealing with. Hope this helps hold you over until I have more official news to provide. Best regards,

All I can say is by the time it is released it WOULD want to be BLOODY PERFECT,leaving the flaws of the past behind I won't mention the 18000, OH S*#T,I forgot, don't mention that.
But in saying that, there is no way of controlling the QC on every model when there are 100's of them,I suppose it depends on individual workers in china who put these together,if one of them, has a bad night before or a bad day,you are guaranteed that what they are working on is not going to perfect,it's human nature,we all know that,if we are having a bad day our work suffers.
There were the issues of faulty winches on previous models, but that was down to the designers, not the workers, but apparently that has been recitfied on the 31000.
We have to take into account that the people that put these models together, which most are made in china, the cost of one large model is probably months of wages to them,so to most of the workers they may think these are going to the east and west countries where they think what the hell, these people can afford them,I might not do this one just right/or not pay proper attention to detail(badly punched rivets/pins)for example, not making sure everything is aligned.
I'm stopping here I could go on but there is no point, you will never get that perfect model without flaws of some description. PS more time to save up for it.

Diecast.co are saying TWH will probably announce the release date being the end of 2012(Q4)/early 2013,almost another year to save up for it,I think I'll be over it by then, might just get a couple of LTM1350's instead, and especially if the 31000 is anything like the latest groves, which I found a bit disappointing,I will pass on it.

What didn't you like about the Groves? I was thinking of getting the Mediaco at least.
