Cheers Jack,

Although you seem to know an awful lot about those incidents, where were you on the night of both the fire and the tub falling off??Think Think Think I'm on to you Jack boy, you're going down!!!! lol

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

... It's better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

How very dare you Graham, altough the 912 looks awesome as a pedastal. She looked even better with a big gottwald chassis under her.

Been a while since i've posted in this topic, reason being is i was using my photobucket limit up too quickly so only going to post some of my better jobs. This one was not too bad, de-rigging our CC2800 at Farringdon station with a LTM1500, reason the 500 was used is the crawler was down a hole and it all had to be done from the road above.

Tool for the job, LTM1500 on 105t of ballast and operating on half riggers.

47m main boom. No superlift as it would hit the building behind.

Job well done, CC2800 has got a quiet few months now before its off on another long term hire.

Enjoy

Todays job was another 1st for me, undressing the 500 so to speak. Had to remove the superlift, take out the 4 sections of the 84m boom and replace it with the 50m boom.

Its quite difficult for me to take some good shots of the action as obviously I have to drive the crane while to good stuff it happening.

50m section came from up north, as for north as our friends in Scotland

To remove the boom tele out section 3 with 4,5 & 6 in it, total weight of 22t

Then tele section 2 out 46% and release the tele ram and retract it back into the boom. then release the main pin once my crane had the full weight of the sections.

then just put the 1 section in to replace the 4 that have been removed.

84m boom and superlift stored in the corner of our yard till monday, when I get to put it back together.

Thanks for looking

Its going into Farringdon station where it was rigged to do the crawler last weekend, because of the building behind the superlift cannot be used and it did not have the duties on the 84m boom so hey presto 50m boom it is.

My mate just sent me this picture, a rare action shot of me actually lifting, i'm not always behind the camera you know!

Why is the section for the 50 m boom a different color? Was this purchased after recieving the crane, or a replacement for a damaged section? Or is it because you guys just like to be different Smiley

Sorry just read through your photos, I see it's from a different company.

Just a question for you guys accross the pond: Here in Canada, our weight laws on the road are quite different. For example, our AC 700 and AC 500-2 have to have the complete boom removed and three outriggers in order to be legal. In some areas, depending on the time of year, we are forced to remove the upper works aswell.

Can you guys drive legally on the road with an LTM 1500 with the 84 m boom, superlift, all of its outriggers and hook block??? It seems over here the Demags are preferred as they seem to be more road legal when they are stripped down. I know of only one LTM 1500 in Canada, and it is on the other side of the country and seems to remain in one place, not travelling on public roadways. Is this because Demag has made it easier to strip their cranes of the heavy components compared to Liebherr? As an operator of these larger cranes, I envy you guys who can boom down in the rest at the end of the day. Over here it generally involves a lot more work before you can travel home.

I know a lot of people, including myself, would like to see the 1500 in 1:50th scale but I also wish Terex would step up to the plate and get a CC model made. The CC2800 would be great and if WSI or someone made a 6 axle step frame then what a combination that would be. Of course, first livery should be Ainscough Wink

Sorry not looked at this thread for a while, so many questions.

Joe, no mate been a while since i've got that for north.

Sam, not yet mate, it went away friday night and will not be back till tuesday when i've got to swop the booms again.

Sabian_2, We have very high axle loads here in the uk with no restrictions at all on axle spacing allowing the heavy machines to run with the superlifts and long boom on board. Means also the smaller machines run with most or all of there counterweight. As you say it is quite handy at the end of the day when you just drop the weights on the deck and put the boom in the rest and your alway home Smile. The 500 runs at a road weights of about 130t, the superlift weights 13.3t and the 4 boom sections 22t, the 1 section that was put back in was 7.5t.

Dewoc, It does not look funny while its tele'd in....a lot of companies have different coloured boom head, in fact if you ignored the sign writing it looks a bit like a william whytes 500. When it is tele'd out i'm sure it would be a different story.

Paul, If we keep shouting i'm sure we can get a LTM1500 eventually....hopefully YYC will take up the slack....as for the CC/TC2800 I'll keep dreaming.
