I took my new Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 out today to shoot some photo's. Lots of them, 28 in total!! I'll spread them out over several posts. Enjoy!!

Full boom and luffing jib, Height: 210 cm's (about 6 feet 10 inch!!)

I already made some improvements to the model.

Here's the first, I replaced the original (weak) plastic pins for attaching the jib to the boomhead with metal ones from Norscot models. These work perfectly.

Secondly, brass nails have been used to replace the other plastic pins for connecting the individual parts of the jib.

The original cilinder has been replaced by one from YCC (this is actually one intended for the AC 500, but the other one will go on my LinkBelt RTC 80100).

Here's another shot of the model with the KSM Hilse ballast (tag) trailer.

To illustrate the length of the luffing jib, here are a couple of photo's of the complete jib, on a completely extended Nooteboom teletrailer....

The crane with all it's parts...

Then for the counterweight parts. Excellent work from Conrad. If you check out the PDF file of the Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 Product Advantages here, you can read about the seperate pieces of the counterweight. It's on page 6.

The build up, each photo will contain an extra part of the ballast. Weight numbers are composed of the individual parts.

Photo 1: Baseplate with new parts for connecting to the crane. Weight: 12,000 kg.

Photo 2: Overlay plate. Weight: 22,000 kg.

Photo 3: First top plate. Weight: 32,000 kg.

Photo 4: Second top plate. Weight: 42,000 kg.

Photo 5: Upperplate. Weight: 52,000 kg.

Photo 6: Side weights. Completede counterweight now masses 72,000 kg!!

Last part...

A couple of more photo's of the crane in transport condition. The Nooteboom teletrailer functions as ballast trailer for the moment. A better 4 axle trailer will probably arrive in a few months.

Other side...

The jib lying alongside the main boom. I don't think it's positioned correctly though...

Close-up of the YCC cilinder in place.

Can't wait til the model makes it to us in the states. I think the trailer is a KSM model.

@Christian, the outriggers aren't out because they suffer from a minor (but on Conrad cranes common) problem. The outriggerpads on one side of the crane are not able to hold the crane, the screws don't have enough 'bite'. I'm going to fix this coming weekend. The problem comes forth because Conrad uses metal screws inside plastic outriggers...

@John, the crane does not come with a tagtrailer, although it is possible to buy it with one directly from KSM (the manufacturer of the trailer model, like Jason already mentioned.

Remko-
Can you email me the link for the place to buy the tagtrailer, because I can't find KSM's website.

Thanks for the info

The crane comes with the hitch, but even if it didn't, the trailer also comes with an extra hitch so that it can be used on any crane.
