Today at at 3:22 in the morning there was a 3 alarm fire on the corner of West 16th Street and Avenue C. The fire spread to 3 buildings and was battled by both the Bayonne and Jersey City Fire Departments. It was knocked down by 7am. Preliminary reports are that it was a torch job as it was the second fire in the vacant building all the way to the left in as many weeks. All FF's were pulled from the building at approx 4:20am when there were partial collapses and the walls were bowing and moving in and out from the heat and flames. I was on scene for the fire itself than had to go to work so I left. This afternoon I took a walk over since I knew they would be there by than. I knew they were coming from about 6am this morning when the city building inspector condemed the 2 buildings in the middle. It is still up in there air whether or not the corner building will be razed as well. The work is slated to begin Thursday morning.

Man you took a lot of pictures of this thing. Must be an awesome machine to see in person! Would love to take a short trip there, just don't have the spare time required.Sad Nice pics!

Cool photos Brian,

I'm probably just missing something, but a 345 LRD seems a little bit... Big? for demo of those buildings, wouldn't a 345 with a standard (or short demo) boom work just as well?

regards,
Jim

Well, if you look really closely, like details such as the water being sprayed on to the house, and clouds, lights etc, most of the photos are not doubles, just extra shots. Although some are repeated.

Sorry for all the duplicate pictures. I posted them before i ran out the door for . I didnt have any time to sort them out this morning. I just weeded out most of the duplicates and am working on the actual demo ones now as we speak. The had the 345 there because the state arson unit wanted them to go through the buildings strategically. They did deliver 330 as a second machine while i was there.

I too love their colors! I have built a few models in their colors which can be seen here...http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=110185. I will build a model of their 345BL UHD someday soon.
