I don't think this rig is moving anytime soon. Windy roads at 9000' up in the mountains. I don't even know how it got up the hill.

I do not think it is moving either, unless they get a plow up there and clear a way for it.

There are hundards of reasons why you can't- but mainly its the wrong machine for the wrong job.

AHH where's your sense of adventure, Justin? Just open that apron push the ejector forward and pretend like you grading a haul road. LOL. Seriously though, I'm sure the weight on just the 4 tires would wreck havoc on the roads, and hope you don't drop the bowl all the way down eitherWink

Hmmm, we could do that. Or even better, lets bring a cold planner out and saw the snow right off the road! That will save lots of time! LOL

That's exactly who it is. They've got a top notch fleet and they are all over the place in the valley.

yeah no chance of that truck going anywhere anytime soon even if the streets got plowed. you are never going to get enough traction to get started on your own

got to love that photo. i think the company hired a heavy haul company to transport it so theres a reason y not to use it to clean up the road... just my two cents Smile

Guys,

Sorry to ask but i live here in Australia where we don't know what the Hell Snow is nor Rain (in a 10yr Drought) I was wondering if the snow will damage the paint work on the Truck? If left on the truck for too long?

It is our summer over here. so seeing the snow makes us feel a little better when it 34 Degree C outside

Hmmm...Well when loggers need to move a big yarder out in a situation like this, they use a grader to clear the road and then use a D8 as a tail hold so it doesn't get out of control going down hill. And then you can push on the back going uphill. Of course you'd hang iron on every tire of every axle. Tripple rail chains would be best. But then again yarders have a block on the back for pushing on them. I wouldn't want to be the guy who gave the go ahead to push on a nice lowboy like that!!! And you might need a little more than a D8 as a tail hold, maybe two! Miraculous stuff can be done when you are careful, take your time and have resources though.

Hey fellas I know that spot quite well! That is the top of HWY 88 just before you drop down into Hope Valley/Red Lakes area. I ride Sleds with my buddies up there. That is a rest area with a bathroom for travelers and hikers during the summer. Yes, that is Taylor Heavy Haul a Great company one of my good friends use to drive or them but, now has gone to Granite Const as there lowboy driver. The scraper well that belongs to FORD CONST COMPANY INC (FCCI) A pretty good size company they have in Holt Brothers yard at times around 8 to 10 of the 657's that I've counted. They do a lot of BIG prison, railroad, dam and thing that requires alot of dirt to be moved. Looking at the snow up there I guess it's time to get the old sled out and gased up and ready to go!
