While I do not LOVE the fact that the hinge is painfully obvious, I think for the price you are paying, you couldn't beat this model with anything! And it would be nice if the bucket raised juuuuuust a bit more, but she clears the Mack Granite with no problems. Overall, I'd recommend this model aaaalllll day long! Enjoy the pics ... It took me 10 minutes of looking to even notice the door hinge!

I'd fix it up with what has become my best friend, the "Industrial" Sharpie - leaves a nice, semi-gloss black, that stands up to virtually everything.

Any pictures of how far the bucket tips? Or is that in the 4th picture. Great looking model nonetheless, can't wait to get one.

well I am more than satisfied with that.. and I think you should to..

just look at the 992G for example.. things have improved ALOT this year with Norscot models. And everyone is always complaining.

Millwright, the hand rails are more to scale than appears in the pictures. Remember, this is a smaller wheel loaders overall and I am EXTREMELY CLOSE to them with the camera Lens. And of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but for the money, you can't beat this piece with ANYTHING ON THE MARKET!!!!!!!! ...Prt

Looks good just alittle paint on the hinge and there you go. It is a good looking model for the price anyway.

A little semi-gloss black, indelible marker, cat yellow paint on the boom lift cylinders
clevis"s and also remove the lift arms, grind off the stops and voila! You have now
improved a very good model to an excellent model. Perhaps you would also want to
give a dark tinting wash to the engine grills to give them a bit of "depth". Waiting
for mine and it looks like a winner! Way to go norscot! I think they get it!

by the way guys.....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!! And a PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!!

Because of the hinges, does the door open?
By the way how do you guys get the doors open on your D6 models? I don't want to break anything, but would like to see if you can get a seated operator in there. If anybody has any pictures of this please share.

Chris to open the doors on the d6 i put my fingers on the hinges and slide my fingers so the hinges move and the doors open.

PRT, Do you have any pics you could post of the loader next to a 966D or F?

WinkAni WinkAni prt, I notice that you sell a lot of models on ebay. I wonder if you give a fair review when you sell these models for more money than they are worth. All I can say is Buyer Beware. In my post I was merely expressing my opinion and just that. Everyone has to make up there own mind when purchasing models.

Sorry, I got to step up here, prt probably has some of the lower prices on eBay, not to mention he is an incredibly reliable seller. MY opinion.

Marc, I am not questioning what type of seller he is. I happened to notice that prt has this 950H listed on ebay now for 35.99 plus 9.00 shipping. I only paid 32.99 for mine.

Prt is very reliable in my opinion. I bought a Smith Mack from him with no problem.

catman05, very interesting thoughts you have there. Unfortunately you will note, that everything I comment on, can be backed up in the photographs that I provide. So you will notice that when I give the fair review that the model articulates well, then it does.

When I say the model has lots of nice details... then it does.

When I say the bucket raises enough to fit over the Mack Granite, then it does

When you ask for a Fair Review... you got one! To be completely honest, prior to this year, you wouldn't EVER... find a stock Norscot Model in MY PERSONAL Collection. While I've sold tons over the years, for ME personally... they weren't something that I kept for my own collection. Don't get me wrong, not that they weren't nice models, because they were. I am just very particular about what I put in my collection due to space limitations.

So Far this year, I have kept ONE of EACH NEW NORSCOT Cat Model and I can say that I am proud to own them. If you want proof, even though I haven't got 5 minutes to sit and watch TV with my family here, I'll take some time to put together a photo shoot for you of all of MY NEW Norscot Models, including the 950H.

I never said you weren't entitled to your own opinion. However, and it is proven fact here lately especially after having just been on the phone with another avid collector and participant on this forum who shares these views, that many of you people out there are expecting CCM quality pieces or better, a REAL MACHINE with a set of keys and don't want to pay a dime for it. Sorry to sound harsh, but some of you just need to grow up and realize that these are REPLICA DISPLAY MODELS and for the purpose they serve to Caterpillar, you are all very lucky you are getting what you are out of Norscot. These new models shine above past models by far. Sorry to rant, but when I make a statement either here or in an ebay listing, it is backed up by facts, facts, facts! If you aren't happy with your model, perhaps you should return it for your $32.99 back? ... Prt

PS... Sorry to be making a couple bucks on the models I sell on ebay... shame on me. I should be shot in front of a firing squad at high noon in the town square!

Come on bring them to the Theatre.... if you have a theatre 5 minutes from your home of course... With all the money that you make pay the TAXI for their road back...Teeth Teeth Teeth

Thanks for the review body and it's always nice to tease you.... Take care
