Well I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

I have to say that personally I like the big trucks, especially rigid mining and ADTs .
I am drawn to them most of all over the rest of the machinery/machinery models, and so this was certainly a must have for me.

It's a beautiful truck. I guess because Terex colorings are not just another hue of yellow.

I personally think this model is worth getting, though at around $80 it was ever so slightly disappointing when comparing it to the Motorart Volvo A40D or DCP Komatsu HM400, but after some looking I guess only when comparing the price.
Otherwise, all of the models have sort of trade offs. The Terex has nice crisp lines, diecast metal railings at an appropriate diameter and a good overall level of detail.
The Volvo and the Komatsu both have opening hoods, while the Terex does not, which is about the only other thing I felt disappointed about, but considering that you can barely get the hood on the HM400 open, it's only a minor set back for the Terex.
It articulates quite fully as well as the dump body raising back to a realistic position.

Thank you for posting this haul truck. I have been pondering on getting one, you have just bumped up his order on me buying one. I have never seen Terex hoes, loaders or trucks here in WI. Only cranes. Thanks for the post. I like all reviews.

Thank you a Cutter for your review...I'm still not 100% convinced about getting one, and haul trucks are among my favourites like you...just one more thing: is it right that the TA40 front part "leans" forward just like the HM400? or at least, my HM400 has this problem.

Very nice pics of a great model!
Got to buy one myself to ad my ADT-collection!
Now let's hope Norscot picks up what al the other manufacturers are producing and a new Cat ADT.
An 740 would be very welcome:d/

Hi Chris,
Can you tell us what you think about its suspension system? is it work perfectly? My criteria of buying ADT is the suspension must work finely..Yes, it is a disappointment of no opening hood for this beautiful model..

thanks

I will def. get one of those. I accually wished that this machine would come as a model this year in a "wish thread" on this forum.
a Cutter you dont have the Bell 40t truck? If not, you should get it since it is pretty nice to be an older Norscot.

Mattia,
Yes it does have the same problem as the HM400, but only slightly, or not nearly so much as the HM400.

Derrick,
The suspension is not bad and to me is as functional as the others.

Tarantula,
No I don't have the Bell 40 truck, but do plan to get the B50D truck though, when they are restocked.

This TA40 was a surprise for me as I didn't have a clue it was coming. It is a nice model though.
I would love it if Norscot would make the Cat 740 and to the level they have made the Bell B50D truck.

A Cutter/Tarantula,

I think your perception of the front sections of the Komatsu and Terex articulated haulers sagging is an optical illusion created by the sloped cab and hood. In the photographs supplied by a Cutter above, look at the tops of the fenders, railings and front bumper structures. They all look level to me.

Sorry Randy but with it my own hands, I can tell you that it does have play in the articulation and is not merely an illusion.

On the HM400 it was so bad because of 'play' in the linkage pins, simulated steering hydraulics pins and where the dump frame swivels/tilts up or down for added suspension.

On the TA40, there's not really any play in the replicated hydraulic steering cylinders.
However, at the dump frame where it swivels like on the HM400, there is some play that allows the tractor portion to drop ever so slightly.

Perhaps other TA40 models are tighter and so won't have this problem, nonetheless I don't know.

It's negligible all the same really.

I received mine this week and can't stop looking at it. I suppose the ADT's have become my model of choice. This is by far my favorite of the ADT's I have (MT-31, HM-400, 400d, B40D, 725, TA40) I am anxiously awaiting for dhs to get the A40E EFS as well as the JCB that Motorart has announced. As far as the "play" in the linkage my TA40 is tight as can be. This is a great model and I would recommend it to all. The white adds some great contrast to my display case. Highly recommended!

Thanks for adding that Rakell about the play.
I didn't want to sound off on the entire production based on just one example.
