For most of us desk bound fellows, the sheer size of mining equipment and the larger cranes is always hard to fathom. Then you run across a little item that immediately clarifies things...

...thanks again for the post Tim!

Great shots as always Tim, that shot of the service truck alongside the 994F quickly puts things into perspective!

Tim, do you get these pictures because you work in the mine or are you visiting?

I have to ask - has Bob been to this mine? I mean, look at the colour of the body on the Mack service truck Wink

Excellent pictures Tim.

Thanks guys, glad you enjoy the pics. Coal is at record high prices now in the US, and coal exports are growing to meet world demand. Many mines are expanding as fast as they can. No real strong down turn is expected anytime soon. Mining equipment sales are still growing at record rates, metals, coal, all booming big time world wide. This is one of many operations Oxford Mining runs in Ohio. They are in the same boat, trying to increase production. That 994F and 789C's are the same ones I posted a couple years ago when they were brand new. The R-995 shovel and T-252 trucks that were re-located from Kentucky will join them at this pit.
