More than adequate I would say! The 16000 has some nice symmetry - it's an attractive looking crane. Pity the model has "short comings." Great pics...

Yeah, did anyone figure that out yet?? It sure is a nice model.. I have seen a couple 16000's first hand on wind projects and three will be used on another job near here this summer... almost makes me want to get a model.. As long as the issues are sorted out. I recall the issues with the 495 shovels, mine was perfect and still is. I am a fan of TWH for one major reason... I can afford them.. and never could any other model that size and detail.

No problem with the 16000 other then the issues already addressed. How ever, once your 16000 collapses and you receive new sections, which include a boom butt missing 3 rivets and the 10ft/40ft sections with the pins loose and ready to fall apart. Not to mention scratched and damaged boom sections as replacements??

I'm sorry but for the $500 that was paid? I would rather have my money back then deal with this headache again..

but what was the real headache, re reeving the 3 sheeve main hook, i could have Red doing that in less than an hour. TWH has great service so if you ask me there really isnt much headache at all, they do everything in their prower to right all their wrongs with as little inconvenience to you as possible. i mean you re painted your whole 16000 anyways and i think that was more headache than replacing a few boom sections etc etc

the hook is no problem, I don't mind re reeving a crane, be it a hook, mast whatever it may be. TWH did have great service, They did what they could to make it right and I give them that. But when you ask for replacement parts you expect to get something better in return then what was damaged. I now have to re rivet the left boom stop back onto the butt section, straighten some of the lacing in the boom sections.

I did repaint 2, neither was a headache yeah they were time consuming but no problem at all. I didn't really have the problem removing the paint as Bobm did.

The 16000 is a great model, Real and scale model.. I believe TWH could have done WAY better with it then they did.

Nice pictures CheeseHead ! Are there any more people who've got more pictures of the Manitowac 16000 ? I mean from the real crane, not a model.

Here some pics of the scale model

Very nice pics.

I'll agree on the boom sections being very low quality pieces.I got one of the first 18000's and the boom is twisted, not too mention some of it split down the middle of the cords.
