Anyone have an opinion of the new "white" ASAM L-2350? Quality? I heard ASAM didn't build the 50 White they promised....the limited edition was reduced due to decreased demand.

The CVRD #77 machine?

Yes, usual ASAM quality, very nice. All the handrails are nice and square and everything lines up nicel.y The decals are supplied separately for you to apply if you want to.

Goes well with the 1800 I have.

Will finally go on display properly later this week!

The model is outstanding. I have applied the CVRD decals only becuase I have had some dealings with them through work and I want the model to look realistic. I have just finish manufacturing a 4100XPB propel transmission for one of their shovels.

I am looking froward to receiving my TWH L1850 in white to display with it.

We sold 26 of these models and I believe that Alan sold 24 of these - I think the total was hit.

Thanks for the opinions. Seems the ASAM pieces are extremely rare and highly collectible. I was concerned about the high prices (compared to TWH) but understand these are handmade and are mostly white metal.

I plan to add a 2350 to my collection and possibly the ASAM heavy haulage trucks w/ Girder trailer. The European models & and the chinese tractomas look incredible.

You don't see many of the ASAM models in the aftermarket/ Ebay...I suspect if you're lucky enough to get one you aren't trying to to sell it right away.

Very nice collection!...the blue and white Komatsu and 1/50 scale RH400 are impressive. Definitely top quality pieces. In addition to the 2350...I'm still searching for a large 1/50 RH400.

I only know of Peter Keim who can still make a 1:50 RH400. I have the prototype RH400 (became #35 at syncrude) from OHS, where as Allistair's is the later OHS (?) Syncrude variant, I believe.

I dread to think what they would cost now.

But I do need to look very hard at what I want to collect going forwards and then sell off what does not fit in. I cannot extend the house anymore!!!!!!

Richard,

The cabinet is bulging and there is no room for Shovel 250 or drill EDE 0028. I also don't know where the L1850 or the MT4400 is going to go when they finally arrive. I also have to make room for the D11R Coal dozer I am currently working on.

Can you put me in touch with the maker of the RH400's (Peter Keim). Not sure if the budget will extend to this model but it is one of those must haves for any mining collection!

A new cabinet is definately on the purchase list for 2008/2009!

the asam tyres have a nice weight to them, a heavy rubber feel.. very realistic i think.

RPFowler,

Are you able to provide a POC email (Peter Keim) for the RH400 in 1:50 scale.
If available...send as a personal email.

Thanks

House is a bomb site as I sort all the modelling stuff out and unpack everything, so once I find his details, assuming I can(!) I will let you know.
