Some truth is needed here: The cylinder of topic is 2/3 scale and is a static fixed piece (not a real unit). It is a real as the "police girls" breasts! You can simply see that it is not long/tall enough to provide the needed range of crowding. I watched some videos of the HF with HydraCrowd and it looked like the machine was really slow retracting the dipper-stick. Although I was told many times by various Bucyrus personnel that this will be the standard next year and the rope crowd will be the option, but I don't believe it. In my personal opinion; the most effecient way of crowding is by rack & pinion. I would like to hear other's opinions. Please use this before clicking "post"??? You may be surprised with what you see!

I agree, in fact, I think anybody who has had to do a crowd or retract rope change would agree . The rack and pinion system is so simple to run and maintain, but I think with time, the Hydracrowd system will be an improvement on the ropes. Brian
