Just starting out after 15 years away from the wonderful world of diecast modelling:

Liebherr LTM11200-9.1 (NZG 732) w/ 36m Jib Extension Set

Trying to decide which way to go next, likely a small/mid-range mobile crane (LTF1060-4.1 or LTM1350-6.1), duty-cycle crawler (HS8100) or a hauling rig. That big ol' LTM11200 needs some support!. Definitely starting out with flexibility as a priority over specialization. Yes, there will be dirt-stuff too!

My wife and credit card have already expressed significant concern regarding my planned re-introduction to this marvelous world! Thankfully my efforts towards manufacturing my own strops, straps, spreaders and loads are helping to assuage some of said concern :P

What a way to start - it's such a fantastic model, and there is so much that can be done to develop and improve it (check my thread if you're interested!). I also thought about picking up a WSI 1350 but I'm going to hold fire for a while until I get my 11200 sorted. I've also got a Norscot 5110B with custom bucket and as much as I like dirt too, I'd have to say I'm more of a crane guy when it comes to models.

Part of my habit involves cataloguing all my models - I have a database which I update every time I get new models. In the list is the date of purchase, the price paid, whether it's boxed or not, the maunufacturer and the approximate value of each model. Quite fun to keep a record of everything. It's currently 21 pages of A4, which I won't reproduce here. There are also many sub-catagories of scales and vehicle types.
