So have I and I have long been thinking I'd try my hand at building one.....never could get enough info in the way of dimensions though. I guess I don't have to worry now. Thanks for the heads up! OMG, the British army use these, but with a 10 axle King trailer. I don't want to know the price.

That would be the M911. A civilian Oshkosh F2364 "Sometimes called a J Series but not, just a big F series truck" truck painted army green. On my list for the 1:1 collection.

This is NOT my picture, but it shows the British version which is built in Wales. I thought it was a 10 axle trailer, but it's 7 axles. I live 30 miles from a tank range so I see these all the time. If these aren't available it's down to other private haulers to transport the tanks. Never been lucky enough to get a picture of the convoy, one day, one day.

Right on! the US versions started out with a 8V-92T Detroit, then when those were phased out Oshkosh switched to the 500 hp DDC series 60. The UK-HET has a 18L Cat 750 hp, 6 cyl. Any are a welcome addition to the collection, as they become available ap40rocktruck Richard MarkOwner/ Master Model Maker Industrial Model Designrick@industrialmodeldesign.comhttp://industrialmodeldesign.com

it says King on the british trailer, but actually it was developed by Doll of Germany, who also produces most of its parts. the trailers are made as kits in germany and sent to King to have their final assembly done there http://www.doll-oppenau.de/eng/20_produkte/s_20_30_50.htm
