Is the LTM 11200 at 2.5 meters radius (1200 tons) and the Demag AC 1000/9 at 3.0 meters radius (1000 tons) the same capacity?

Are these cranes being made for the windmill market?

Any insight into these amazing cranes would be great!!

Thanks, Tony.

Ac 1000 can travel with the boom loaded. ltm 11200 too heavy with boom on body for road travel.

LTM can go higher with the luffing jib. They are both heavy hitters...

Tony65,

Looking at cranes technical data documents:
- Demag AC 1000-9: https://www.demagmobilecranes.com/en/product/all-terrain/ac-1000-9 . Go to "download",
- Liebherr LTM 11200-9.1: https://www.liebherr.com/external/products/products-assets/239556/liebherr-technical-data-sheet-mobile-crane-178-ltm-11200-9-1-td-178-04-us02-.p

Even if both are claimed to be in the 1200 tonnes capacity class, with booms in place:
- the Demag can lift 363 tonnes at a 3 metres distance (page17) , which equals to a 1089TxM load moment,
- the Liebherr can lift 470 tonnes at a 10 feet distance (page 23), which equals to a 1429TxM load moment.

As only load moments really define cranes capacity and should only be used for comparison purposes, we see here that the Liebherr unit is slightly more powerful than its Demag counterpart (with +113 tonnes@3M).

I hope this helps.
Guy

LTM 11200 max height configuration with luffing jib is also taller than AC 1000 with jib by a significant margin...
