Sarens 1200 ton AK680-3 is working just outside Millwall football ground in SE London, its taking down a old railway bridge. Was surposed to be finished over the easter period but the main superstructure engine has blown up! lots of oil everywhere and a new engine required. Not sure when the lift will take place now but the big Gottwald is just sitting there unable to move waiting for a new engine. Got some info from the Sarens guys, 500t on the tray lifting 310t @ 42m radius - when is she up and running who know's - but it makes a nice decoration for the East london skyline Enjoy Gaz

Tim, its on Ilderton Road, right on the junction with stockholm road.....if you do decide to come on down how about bringing those pully kits to me?.....i live 5 mins from there at Surrey Quays.
As for other big lifts, our 1000 is in the olymic park again Thursday but i doubt you'll get close to it, same as Weldex's LR11350, you can see it from a distance but never get close! If i hear of anything i'll let you know.

Any pictures of the old girl are more than welcome, looking at your pictures and mine looks like the derrick mast has been re-sprayed. I noticed while i was down there that it looked alot brighter than the main boom, wonder if there respraying it bit by bit.
