Steven and the forum, I am allways curious about the white models...Are 797's and any other cat equipment regularly manufactured in white? and Why? Seems that it would show a tremendous amount of day to day dirt...Just curious...never have I seen a white piece of equipment here In Iowa....(they'd get lost in the snow)..Bob

I've never figured out why anyone would want white models anyway, they look kinda cheesy to me.

Thats hot. cheesy or not thats a hot model. I'd love to see a white D11T, as a matter of fact I think I'll reapint one in white. I considered gettin 2 797F's and painting one in white, or maybe Carolina Tarheel blue and white. lol If anyone wants a white D11 , 797 F or any other model let me know.

I too have wondered why CAT's large mining machines are often reproduced in scale form in white when I have rarely seen any pictures of them in real life (That 994F Coal bucket loader is pretty impressive). Either way I think they look great, really like the looks of this! Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

I have seen the picture, but it doesn't look right to me. It almost seems like there are yellow bands along the top and bottom of the decals on the from of the spill board. Anyways, the side of the box being white does not make for a white truck.

Well, the picture is NOT fotoshopped in any way. A very good friend of mine took it when he visited the oilsands. But it might be that they were out of Caterpillar paint, so they used whatever they had (Terex white?). As you are up there at the oilsands, have you ever seen this 797 with the white box?

I never said the picture was photo shopped, I simply said it doesn't look right. I am wondering if it wasn't some sort of test where they painted the sides of the box white for some reason....what reason, I have no idea. What site was the truck running on? I have never seen the truck before, but I would like to find out about why it was like this.. Brian

I didn´t want to offend you. Sorry if it sounded like that.
I´ll ask my friend for more information on the box.

Oh no, I'm not offended in the least, so don't worry. If you find out where the pictures were taken or any details, please let me know.
Thanks Brian
