Hey guys! I am back with Part II of my Oshkosh M-985 HEMtt Truck. As we last left off, I had finished the painting, including some challenging safety stripping. Now we begin the assembly. Motor, drive train and fuel tanks And the other parts and pieces I really like the motor on this one and I detailed it up a bit And here we have sub assemblies glued up and drying This model has a great working suspension system that is actually really easy to install The cab and engine shroud all installed (and yes I have to repaint the green line around the window Close up of the front suspension module All on and upside down And sometimes you have to pay attention the order of assembly. I first attached the out riggers and then found that the crane had to go on first. So off it comes so the crane can go on And all assembled And now here it is with all the running lights, details and decals A fun project and real cool looking truck. I have been informed that Mammoet uses these in the Middle East countries, Australia, Mongolia, Sakhalin Island, and one is now in Brazil along with the locations already mention in Part I. And in addition to Man and DAF, FAUN also produces them. Thanks for looking.................

thumbs up Bob, looks great. Someone mentioned you've not got many things left to convert, you've had that YCC LTM1800 for a while now and its still yellow, i've been waiting with bated breath for that convertion. I know Mammoet don't actually own a LTM1800 but sice when has that stopped you . The whole collection will be better for it mate P.S thanks for that muskey master, it really is as good as you rave. While Mammoet, lift or haul isn't really my cup of tea, your informative instructional threads are. The final unit looks factory new. Thanks for sharing! 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

Thanks for all the comments guys-it always inspires me to do more. Now to questions: The unit is used as a heavy haul truck in various places as well as a support vehicle. I have a picture somewhere of one in Australia as the prime mover on a 200 ton plus load on multiple boggie dollies. There is one on you tube also somewhere showing it moving a load on the sand. As far as the LTM1800, well I have been meaning to get around to it, but you see, well ah, its like ah, kinda of , you know, ah.................... And that is not a Chevy logo on the front of the unit, its the Oshkosh logo, which I will grant you in that photo does look like the bow tie. So what should I do next?
