I was sent these photos from a friend in SC.

Details:
The company Mammoet is moving a rig measuring 305’ long, 27’ wide, and 20’ tall to Duke @ Cliffside. They are moving a steam turbine generator that weighs 879,635 lbs but the entire rig (trucks, platforms, etc) will weigh 1.7 million lbs.

It was offloaded from the Savannah River this past weekend as you see in the pics. Wil says the move will start the day after Memorial Day and will take 6 days to move through SC. He is trying to get me updates from SCANA’s counterpart with Duke Power. Lee says the move begins in NC on Hwy 176.

At some times there will be two tractors in front and two behind.

divide the lbs amount by 2 to give you the US tons,or take 10% off then divide the lbs amount by 2 to get metric tonnes,(roughly)

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

... It's better to be silent and thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

Here is an update:

The rig is still sitting on the banks of the Savannah River Plant awaiting the move. The route was all planned and ready to go, when someone realized it would be traveling over a dam, a big no no! Eventually it will come into NC on hwy 221 from SC to the Duke plant at Cliffside.
