Thanks for posting the D1 I'm glade we put it on the trailer to bring to the show. I just put it back on the shelf back at my shop till another time this evening. The Cat 5130 back hoe you saw on the PA turnpike is operated by one of my friends son. 9W Walking Dragline Build Links:http://www.rctruckandconstruction.com/showthread.php?t=117Scale 4x4 RC Buildhttp://www.youtube.com/user/Scentlessapprentice9?feature=mhee#p/u/9/59FR27c9BwEhttp://imageshack.us/user/caffco

I built this in 1997 for my kids as sort of a babysitter at the steam shows we attend. It started out as a StrucK Mini Dozer. It has a new Briggs 8HP IC engine. I added a power steering pump to raise the blade. I scaled a Joal D5 diecast model to get some of the sizes and angles. The sheet metal was added to the original machine which is visible through the engine panels. The biggest problem with scale is it sits too high. I could have made a high track but that would have been alot more work. I just wanted something simple for the boys to play with. I had several other irons on the fire to build some other scale Cats but lost interest because I have to earn a living One that I started but never finished was a D6H. One I really would still like to build is a Cat 627 tandem scraper. I saw a picture in a Caterpillar publication of a guy who built one that he rode on but could never locate the owner of it to pick his brain about construction. 9W Walking Dragline Build Links:http://www.rctruckandconstruction.com/showthread.php?t=117Scale 4x4 RC Buildhttp://www.youtube.com/user/Scentlessapprentice9?feature=mhee#p/u/9/59FR27c9BwEhttp://imageshack.us/user/caffco

Maybe next year. Shane Nice big machine. I was out that way last month heading towards MI. It is a bit hard to get a clean shot when your driving.
