Hi all, just wandering if people could please share images (or PM me) of the rear 'catwalks' aswell as the extra walkways on the side of the larger cat dozers, namely the 10's and 11's. Or even better email so as not to clog up the forum. dean_linic at hotmail.com

I don't have any in my collection and google images and HEF only came up with a couple.

To be used for modelling puposes.

Finished model will be shown here in coming weeks, along with a few custom demo excavators.

Cheers

Cool, thanks Jason.

Certain I'd seen this before, when you first completed it, but still good to have another look at it!

Cheers

Here are a few pics that I had saved. It seems to me that most of the designs are obviously regulated by OHS rules and regs but also limited by the type of fuel tank the machine is fitted with. The larger (square) tanks allow for easier placement of the walkways but some of these are plain over the top!

These were posted by Richard a while back from the MtArthur mine.

The D11T's with the large tanks come fitted with walkway paths and rails from the factory. Cheers to Rosco for this pic...

Exactly what I was after!!! Is the ladder in that second picture retractable or does it fold up out of the way?

I do recall a member (TimT IIRC?) posting the picture of that first 11T. Insane!

Not sure sorry mate, I'm pretty sure that most of them hydraulically swing away but it's pretty hard to see from the picture.

I have seen diagrams of ones that instead of stairs leading out from the machine they go down parallel with them going back wards. These tilt up horizontally then flip vertical against the machine. Novel idea.

There was an Austrailia contactor at the show and called those "walkrounds". They are pretty cool.

Stupid question, I know you need them for safety, but whats around the back of the cab needing access.

used at Mt Arthur and many others.

Geraint, its to allow access to the rear screen for cleaning (so that you can clearly see the walkway!!!!!!!!!!1), clean, adjust and maintain work lights etc.
