Below are photo's of a 245 that I purchased at the ACMOC show a few weeks ago. I purchased it just as a normal piece to add to my collection but when I took a closer look I noticed that both the boom and stick cylinders are on backwards. I was curious to see if any of you guys have ever seen a 245 model like this before? All of the rivets are factory NZG, nothing has been changed.

rams will only be mounted upside down if they're boom rams, never seen stick or bucket rams mounted this way,

i don't know what the reason is to mount boom rams upside down,i'm thinking it keeps valve blocks and check valves and hoses out of harms way,as these will be mounted to the back of the boom

interesting little defect all the same,
i have a 5130 back hoe with a bucket ram rivited to the outside of the top of the stick......

Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

I have one just like that. I thought I was maybe the only one, but I guess not huh? I think it is an error and they are one of a few out there as I have seen near 100, if not over, of those NZG 245's in my time. Neat conversation piece if nothing else.

Now that's something you don't see everyday....

"THE KILPATRICK ENTERPRISE IS GOING TO JAIL, MIKE DUGGAN IS MAYOR, SYNDER IS GOVERNOR AND IS FIXING MICHIGAN"

AJAX MATERIALS CORPORATION...AJAX PAVING INDUSTRIES....BLACK OR WHITE, WE PAVE MICHIGAN

according to Liebherr they mount the boom rams upside down to prevent dirt build up around the top of the cylinder that causes small scratches on the ram and therefore can lead to leakage

on "normal" excavators that is no so relevant, bit on mining machines working in abrasive material it should make a difference

It is almost seeming like this was done on purpose by NZG seeing that there is more than one.Think
