Only 2 Liebherr P996 pontoon-mounted backhoes are currently in service in the world.A third P996 called the 'Tauracavor' sunk while on tow in the open ocean a few years back and was salvaged but I do not think it was ever "revived" so to speak!!The sister to the 'New York' is called the 'Pinnochio' and is currently working on the harbour widening/deepening project in my hometown of Durban,South Africa. It is owned by DEME/Dredging International.I have many pics of this particular excavator if anyone is interested.

Rowan. Rowan, DonJon Marine Services also owns and operates a Liebherr 995 dredge in the area. I've caught it a few times, but only managed to grab this picture. Just what happens at the office.... - Danny
