Why is "phonetically" spelt with a "ph"?

The complex of Newgrange was originally built between c. 3100 and 2900 BC,[2] meaning that it's aproximately 5,000 years old. According to Carbon-14 dates,[3] it is more than 500 years older than the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, and predates Stonehenge by about 1,000 years.

I have tons of pics of Nigels Hitachi stuff too that I'll have to sort through, I'll post tomorrow, bed time for me now. He is an extremely talented man. gbarnewall wrote:,that Komatsu is brilliant,i've seen the toy its based on on ebay a few times I still search high and low for that model weekly. It's a 'Tim Toys' Model and was sold individually and in a box construction set. It was mainly plastic and I would be willing to shell a few $$ to get one! Please contact me if you have one available! Here are a few more before and after pics to show how much work Nigel put in! Craig no doubt does AMAZING work, the only reason I didn't post any of his work was because I would have had 1000 photos flooding the thread Check out all of his recent work here -> http://504customexcavators.blogspot.comRowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

PS. If I posted all that I wanted too, this page would have over a hundred photos. There is some serious talent on this board, I tended just to post some of the older (perhaps non-seen before) stuff. Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

Good thread Rowan...needles to say there are plenty of custom and scratch built items that could be shown and they're all great. It's still nice to celebrate people's achievements even if you can't get them all in this thread. Some great looking pieces to say the least. I like that wooden 621 or (631?) and I got the privilege of seeing Fred's Pete lowboy hauling the D8. It's truly amazing that it is made entirely of wood minus the hardware. Chris

The 1/2 scale 345C is just stunning in how large it is.

Really like the 1/2 scale stuff! The 980H would be sweet for cleaning the driveway in the winter! Greg

My sincerest appologies to Jay, he has done some amazing work over the years and his Tailings Dozers were stunning pieces! It would be great if Jay could share some more pictures of his work! Thanks for the correction! Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator
