9650 is to be the 996 replacement, 9350 is already out there replacing the 994B so it would be same to assume the 9400 takes the 995,s mantle although i thought it was a tad heavier than 400 ton

Gav This is one of reasons why Liebherr introduced the new machine ID numbering. The "old" 994B is a 300t 18m3 machine, then the 995 was a 450t 26m3 machine. There was no "space" for a machine to go up against the 22m3 PC4000 and EX3600. This is how I see it panning out Bucket size 15m3; Nominal class 250t;Hitachi EX2500-6;Komatsu PC3000;Liebherr R9250; Bucket size 18m3; Nominal class 300t;Liebherr R9350;Terex O&K RH120E (17m3 287t) Bucket size 22m3; Nominal class 400t;Hitachi EX3600-6 (360t);Komatsu PC4000;Liebherr R9400;Terex O&K RH170B Bucket size 28m3; Nominal class 550t;Hitachi EX5500-6 (518t);Komatsu PC5500;Liebherr R9550 (R995 upgrade);Terex O&K RH200 Bucket size 33m3; Nominal class 670t?;Liebherr R9650 (R996 upgrade);Terex O&K RH340B (570t) Bucket size 40m3; Nominal class 800t;Hitachi EX8000 (780t);Komatsu PC8000 (720y); Liebherr R9800 Bucket size 50m3; Nominal class 1000t; Terex O&K RH400 KR R

Well, the word "NEW" probably has a purpose. Gavin, do you know anything, we don´t know (and that you are willing to share with us)?
Will be interesting to see, what Liebherr will show at BAUMA next year. I think there´s a good chance we´ll see a R9400 there.

Haha!!! I just wanted to see what hardcorers are still on DHS as i knew that would be more than a blip on the radar. Unfortunately guys the large mining HEX for Cat are done. The closest thing Cat will have is the O & K as you all know.
There is a lot more Cat componentry going into them these days too so maybe one day in the future they will be yellow.
You now know 11 exclamation marks is Australian for Tongue in cheek !!

Well, I learn something new every day. Now what do 12 exclamation marks mean?!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought you were pulling out leg, but you are a well informed source, so I would expect to hear it from you first if something did happen.

Always the CAT Die-hard eh Gav And I like the O&K colour scheme as they sit .. Never mind Vomit coloured Yellow TBH I was looking for the O&K's in the list .. Only Cat engines going into O&K shovels .. Lets hope its only the engines .. Although the C18 in the RH120E should be replaced with something with a bit more Power .. (QSK19 back in there ) Also the RH120-E is in the next class up from the PC3000?

The RH120E is rated at 1350HP with the QSK19 and 1400HP with the C18. Backhoe is 17m3, faceshovel is 16.5m3 capacity.
Compared to the PC3000 which is 1260HP and 15m3 for either backhoe or faceshovel.
The Liebherr 9250 is QSK45 at 1287HP swinging 15m3 buckets in either configuration at 1.8t/m3, whereas the 9350 is also QSK45 but with 1500HP dialled in and swinging 18m3 at 1.8t/m3.
So kind of sits in the middle!

May they use more and more Cat components to push the sales through the Cat network. But as long as Terex Westport exists I can not believe that they sell O&K out. The Dortmund facility is the best money maker in the whole group and it would be a big foult to do so !!!!
little more is always possible
