Thanks guys.....I thought it was kinda fitting to put it in front of the Bucyrus 495HR seeing they are now blood brothers....wonder if we will see a Bucyrus RH400? For those that dont know Bucyrus know owns Terex Mining....paid for in cash!!
Currently it is sitting in my office at work but tomorrow it will come home. I am looking forward now to the 4100XPC to compare all three of these machines. I wonder if we will see a Liebherr R9800....?? Hope so.
Yes i am sure I will get plenty of enquiries for Peter's contact details. I will warn it takes some time to get the model but it is definately worth it to see the craftsmanship.

Mitchtim I did notice the 495HR but I didnt pick up on the new relation, probably because I've been travelling for the last 8 hours and I'm a little rusty! I've often wondered myself if and when we will we see an R9800, I for one would definatley get one. I know we've seen some different variations of the Demag's but I do wish someone would make a PC4000, 5500 and 8000... maybe one day But for now all I can do is hope and wait, and wait for my RH340 to arrive

Rossco, to answer your questions:
1' Does the model function? Yes all functions as per the real machine. There are small in-hex grub screws in the hydraulic cylinders to set these in place for a display if required.
2' Completely made of Brass? estimated 80% Brass
3' Limited numbers or Made to Order? Made to order although i think Peter made a batch of about 10 at once.
4' One Kidney or Two? I am still breathing!! Worth it though.....outstanding finish and quality! Peter is an exceptional engineer and craftsperson.

Here’s a question for anyone with experience with the real deal. How do you go about resealing the underside spool end caps on those Rexroth control valves? I haven't seen any photos of the MCV set up on the real deal but going by the model (and 340's) it looks like a real involved task since their mounted sideways and the HP and balance pipes are in the way!

Thorleif Put it this way, you can buy a few of each of the other models in Tims pics for the cost of one of these. They are serious quality and so command serious cash. KR R

That might make my trip to bauma even more special this year! Please use this before clicking "post"??? You may be surprised with what you see!

Very nice, very nice indeed. As much as I would like to have one of the Keim RH400s, I'll have to settle for my RH170 he is building for me. It's hard to justify another RH400 model with the one in my basement.

Amazing pictures mitchtim! Would definitely like to see more when you get her home amongst the rest of your collection. You say that it's currently on your work desk, what do your workmates say about the models? I can just imagine my bozo mates picking them up, stretching each part of them and running them across the desk like a matchbox car haha Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

Rowan,
Most people are too scared to touch and just look at them to admire the quality. I am very fortunate that these models complement our business so the are a good teaching aids. The 495HR and 4100XPC are always in my office but the RH400 will be going home today. I will set it up in my collection and get some good pictures.

I wouldn't be so sure about that I was just curious because it is a hand-built brass model and "we know" how expensive brass models are compared to our humble diecasts!.

mitchtim, I notice that your RH400 NACG is distinctly different from all the others I've seen, and that has my curiosity aroused. Curiosity can be a cruel thing that just lingers and hounds until it is finally resolved. Cutting to the chase; What I'm curious about is; did you specifically request no Terex markings on the model? Your piece is the only one I've seen without the "Terex" and "RH400" logos on the bottom edge of the car body and the "Terex Mining" logo on the bottom of the counterweight! Just a curiosity, Please use this before clicking "post"??? You may be surprised with what you see!
